How we help

The Shika Solution

“The biggest obstacle to education is poverty.”

Our educational support programmes aim to make a quality primary and secondary level education more accessible to children in most need of it.  Working within the current education system, we collaborate with local education professionals, schools, parents and children themselves to utilise and strengthen the current resources available.   We do this by providing a support structure which aims to improve:

·      school attendance

·      school performance

·      school graduation rates

·      literacy rates

Every Shika sponsorship includes a holistic support package appropriate to each child.  This is the Shika Education Support Programme (SESP).

Each year, against the odds, more and more Shika students are graduating from secondary school, proving that our education programmes do work.
